I am Mariam.
I am a 27 year-old Egyptian-Canadian journalist and content creator from Toronto, Canada. I have been wearing the hijab since I was 18 and I am proud to be a modest-dressing, plus-sized woman.
As a someone who grew up with the rise of social media, I never saw myself represented as a tall, plus-sized woman and the feeling of exclusion became even worse when I started wearing the hijab in 2013.
My mission is to create a space that not only plus-sized modest dressers can find inspiration but have a real and honest conversation about motherhood and mental health.
Journalist by day, content creator by night
When I am not at my 9 to 5 job as a journalist or creating content, you can catch me cooking and creating memories with my toddler.
